NRT to tour the Nation

31st August, Kathmandu

NRT , Nepal's Premier 'A' Division Football Club is setting off for a tour through Nepal. NRT is scheduled to stop over in 8 cities / towns of the nation and play friendly matches with local teams in these places, specially formed for the purpose.

NRT will travel first to Janakpur, where it will play with Janakpur 11 and then to Kakarvitta, Itahari, Kawasoti, Mahendranagar, Nepalgunj, Baglung before wrapping up in Gorkha.

"The main objective behind organizing this tour is to try and push start sporting activities, which has been a victim of internal and external politics in the sector." says Kiran Krishna Shrestha, Team Leader of nepa~laya. "Children and Youth of the Nation should have opportunities in sporting activities" he adds.

nepa~laya together with Kathmandu Khel Mandal (KKM) the mother organization behind NRT (New Road Team) is partnering to organize the tour. KKM is contributing it's expertise in the sporting sector and nepa~laya is managing the tour.

"We are glad to be working with nepa~laya to make this tour happen. This kind of sporting initiatives is a positive step and we do hope it will have a positive impact in the sporting sector of the nation, especially football." says Narendra Shrestha, Chairperson of KKM/NRT.

Along with the football matches, Football Clinics for local children and Referee Workshops for local referees will also be organized.
Football clinics will be conducted by traveling coaches of NRT, Yogamber Suwal and Maheswor Mulmi.
Referee workshop for local or aspiring referees will be conducted by FIFA recognized Nepali referee sSriram Ranjitkar, who will also judge the matches played during the tour.

"I am glad to be included in the NRT squad to tour the country. Together with my team mates we will play in good spirit and in harmony with our brother players across the country," says Anil Gurung of NRT team.

The tour will kick off on 6th of Septmeber from Janakpur and end on 27th September in Gorkha.
