Nepathya for the disabled
Join in the unique atmosphere
of this event, amidst all the handicapped in the audience
Nepathya is probably
the most 'earthy' popular band in Nepal, specializing in 'folk
rock' that mixes traditional melodies with the modern beat.
Singer Amrit Gurung is
a socially conscious role model for young adults throughout
the country.
Nepathya is keen to play for the disabled of
Nepal.
We therefore plan to bring the
hundreds of disabled of the valley (and beyond, if feasible)
to the spacious grounds of the Khagendra Navajeevan Kendra
at Jorpati on the eve of 16th October, Saturday.
The event will be dedicated to
providing the disabled (impaired in sight, limbs, even hearing
)
with access to sheer enjoyment of meaningful, thumping Nepali
rock.
The central audience space
in the lawns of the Khagendra Navajeevan Kendra will be reserved
for the disabled. However, there will be limited seating
in the surrounding area for a paying non-disabled audience.
The revenue collected from entrance support fee
priced at Rs.1000 and Rs.500, shall go to the
Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center as a means to support
its own work.
nepa~laya in association
with the Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center has taken
it up to organize the event, which will be managed professionally
with the full complement of sound, stage and support that
any mass concert demands.
