Shanti ko lagi
Shikshya 2002
In January 2002 when the state
of emergency was about to be imposed in Nepal, a highly popular
Nepali Folk-Rock band-Nepathya was out in the market with
their new album-Resham.
A concert tour was planned for Nepathya. Nepathya expressed
its wish to do something for education and peace. And
nepe~laya started working to make it happen. Situation worsened.
State of Emergency was declared.
Sponsors started backing out but Nepathya and nepa~laya both
stick with the plan of 14 shows through out the nation.
Revenue estimates from entry ticket could not cover costs-
as the plan was to donate
half of the ticket money to local public schools for building
libraries there. Finally few sponsors
showed generosity- but not enough for 14 shows. Out of the
14 places only 5 shows became possible.
Finally with sponsors in hand ,a campaign was launched-
Nepathya Shanti Ko Lagi Shikshya-2059
Nepathya Education for Peace Tour 2002.

Conclusion:
At the time when the peoples representatives could not
show courage to go to their constituency and when the entertainment
world was at a standstill a group of young musicians and a management
company put their act together and advocated for a politics
free educational environment.
A very well appreciated campaign indeed- Shanti Ko Lagi Shikshya
2002.
